There is neither East nor West, race nor religion when people of different backgrounds come together in peace. The selection of over 50 photographs in this exhibition provides a record of fashion, photographic technology, historical events and famous figures around the early 20th century. It also highlights the diplomatic relations between East and West at that time. This was a time of global expansion when communication and transportation were rapidly improving. More people could travel freely and were opening their eyes and minds to an exchange of dialogue, cultures and ideas.

The photo exhibition by Asian Geographic, Asia Without Borders will showcase a selection of winning and short-listed photographs submitted for this year’s competition under the same name. It will portray a handful of striking images and aspects of Asia’s land, people, architecture or wildlife under the following categories: The Land, Humanity, Wild Places and Man’s Imprint. The Competition is a launch pad for young photographers to raise their professional profile in Asia whilst bringing Asia to the world.

An annual film and documentary festival that celebrates excellence for first time producers, directors, writers, cinematographers, actors and documentary makers from the people of Asia-Pacific origin.
