Evolution is a visually striking multi-disciplinary work that comprises an original gigantic outdoor installation evoking the intricate mechanism of a clock and performances by celebrities from the Singapore theatre scene. Created by well-known director Goh Boon Teck and inspired by recording devices of time from around the world, Evolution will feature eight tableaux with costume designs by Thai designers Saksit Pisalasupongs and Phisit Jongnarangsin of Tube Gallery, and music by award winning Singapore composer Philip Tan. The performing artistes include Timothy Nga, Lim Yu-Beng, Tan Kheng Hua, Mark Richmond, Beatrice Chia-Richmond and supermodel Junita Simon, and this creation as Goh says, is an archival tool of memories, histories and imagination, “a time piece which celebrates creativity and human spirit”.
